Adaptive Community:
The year 2024 was a period of significant advancements for the Python Community of Panama. Throughout the year, we faced technological, educational, and logistical challenges, but our community remained resilient and united. Adapting to change was key to maintaining the momentum towards the adoption of Python, demonstrating the commitment of all members to continue growing.
Meetup Vol. 41
Growth and Participation:
2024 was a year of significant growth for the community. Not only did we increase our social media presence with 20% higher engagement, but we also managed to attract over 900 people to our events, reflecting the strong connection we have established with Pythonistas in Panama and the region.
Milestones and Achievements:
This year, we are celebrating several exciting milestones:
- PyCon Panamá 2024: With the participation of more than 400 attendees, we had the opportunity to feature over 15 national and international speakers. The conference was a meeting point to share knowledge about Python and its applications in different areas such as AI, data analysis, and automation.
- Courses and Workshops: We are organizing the Basic Python and Data Analysis Course, offering our members a unique opportunity to strengthen their technical skills and prepare for the technological future.
- Academic Collaborations: Throughout the year, we forged alliances with important educational institutions such as the Technological University of Panama (UTP), which allowed more students to access Python training.

Challenges and Opportunities:
Although we exceeded expectations in many aspects, we also faced challenges such as the need to adapt to new virtual environments and manage the growth of our community. These obstacles provided us with opportunities to improve the organization, strengthen our online platforms, and expand our volunteer base.
Featured Events:
The events of this year were key to the success of our community. Among the most notable, in addition to PyCon Panama, we mention:
- Meetups: These gatherings were essential for bringing together developers, students, and Python enthusiasts, creating a space to share knowledge, resolve doubts, and learn together. Each Meetup was an opportunity to strengthen the community and learn from each other.
- PyCafé: This event provided an informal and welcoming space where community members could enjoy a relaxed conversation about Python, share their personal projects, and discuss new tools. With a relaxed approach, PyCafé was the perfect opportunity to connect, learn, and enjoy a pleasant atmosphere among colleagues.
- PyData Panama: Aimed at those interested in the intersection between Python and data analysis, this event brought together experts and enthusiasts to explore topics such as machine learning, visualization, and other applications of Python in data science. It was an ideal platform to learn and share advancements and knowledge in this dynamic field.

Looking Towards the Future:
With 2025 on the horizon, we remain focused on expanding our presence and strengthening our community. Our goal for the next year is to continue organizing quality events, increase collaboration with companies and institutions, and promote the development of open-source projects. Additionally, we aim to continue promoting Python education in Panama, increasing our participation in events and on social media.
